Lightweight benches, designed to be carried during the annual maple tree procession in the town of Koshirakura, northern Japan. Crafted from reclaimed timber—once used to board up windows during typhoon season—the benches and stools embody a spirit of resourcefulness and tradition.

Constructed using Japanese dry joinery techniques learned from local craftsmen, the pieces are assembled without nails or screws. Hand-carved stones are used to secure tension joints, blending natural materials with traditional craftsmanship to create functional, portable seating rooted in place and ritual
